Creating Menu Items

You can integrate property lists and categories directly as menu items in the WordPress navigation — both the general property list and filtered views.

Creating a General Menu Item

Open the menu editor in your site’s backend (wp-admin) under Appearance > Menus. Click “Screen Options” in the top right corner to reveal the “Property Categories” section in the “Add menu items” area.

In the “Properties” section, select the “Property Listings” entry and add it to the menu. This gives visitors direct access to the complete property list.

Filtered Categories as Sub-Items

Using drag and drop, you can create subordinate menu items that display only specific property types — for example, only properties for sale or only houses.

Custom Filter Links

For precise filtering, create a custom link with the desired URL parameters:

/immobilien/?typ=haus&vermarktungsart=kauf
/immobilien/?nutzungsart=gewerbe&vermarktungsart=miete

Tip: Perform a search in the search form with the desired parameters and copy the resulting URL for use in the menu. Use “Custom Link” to add the URL to your menu.
