Installing the Plugin

Before you begin, check that your web space meets the system requirements – WP-ImmoMakler requires at least PHP 8.2 and WordPress 6.7.

Install the WP-ImmoMakler installation file via Plugins > Install in the WordPress backend, or upload the extracted immomakler/ directory via FTP to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory on your web server. Then activate the plugin. Available updates are displayed by WordPress and offered for automatic installation.

  1. Create a directory

Create a directory called /openimmo/ in your WordPress installation. This is where your real estate software will deliver its export files. This directory is usually created automatically when the plugin is installed.

  2. Set up the export in your real estate software

Set up a new export interface in your real estate software using the FTP credentials of your web server and specify the /openimmo/ directory as the target directory. Select the latest OpenImmo version and enable the “Send as ZIP” option. Customer and provider numbers can be assigned freely.

  3. Start the export

Start an export or property synchronization from your real estate software, just as you would for real estate portals.

  4. Import properties

Import the exported files manually via Properties > Import or enable the automatic import. You can find this in your website’s backend (wp-admin). With automatic import, WP-ImmoMakler continuously monitors the directory and imports new export files automatically.

  5. View imported properties

You can find the imported properties in your site’s backend (wp-admin) under WP-ImmoMakler → Properties.

  6. Check the display on your website

View your properties at http://www.your-website.com/immobilien/. Make sure that in your site’s backend (wp-admin) under Settings → Permalinks search-engine-friendly URLs are enabled.

  7. Add menu items

Add properties to your navigation via Appearance > Menus. Drag entries such as “Buy” and “Rent” from the “Marketing Types” box into the menu via drag-and-drop, or create a custom link to /immobilien/. To do this, you need to activate the Properties Elements in your WordPress backend (wp-admin) under Appearance → Menus → Screen Options (top right).

  8. Configure the plugin

Review the available options in the backend of your website (wp-admin) under WP-ImmoMakler > Settings and in the WP-ImmoMakler section of the WordPress Customizer.

In our demo you can see how the fully installed plugin should look by default. If the appearance on your site differs from the demo, feel free to contact our support team. You also have the option to extensively customise the property display. If you have any questions about this, send us an email.

Tip: In our WP-ImmoMakler webinar we explain all the important steps live and interactively.

If needed, we also offer an integration service. This covers the seamless integration of the plugin into your theme, based on our default design.
