JustImmo WordPress Plugin: Import Properties Automatically

WP-ImmoMakler is the WordPress plugin for JustImmo: it automatically transfers your properties from JustImmo to your WordPress website via the OpenImmo interface.

  • A JustImmo account with an activatable OpenImmo export (portal interface)
  • The FTP or SFTP credentials of your web server — you can obtain these from your web host
  • A WordPress website with WP-ImmoMakler installed; the plugin automatically creates the transfer directory /openimmo/

Setting Up the OpenImmo Export in JustImmo

Section titled “Setting Up the OpenImmo Export in JustImmo”

The connection between JustImmo and WP-ImmoMakler is made via the OpenImmo export. Set up a new portal interface in JustImmo and enter the FTP or SFTP credentials for your web server.

Configure the following fields:

  • Portal name: A descriptive name, e.g. “Website”, “Homepage” or “WP-ImmoMakler”
  • Provider number: Any number — typically “1” if you are the sole provider
  • FTP folder: By default /openimmo/ in the WordPress root directory. If WordPress is installed in a subdirectory, enter the full path from the FTP root, e.g. /clickandbuilds/app/wordpress_1/openimmo/
  • FTP port: Port 21 for FTP, FTPS or FTP/TLS; port 22 for SFTP/SSH
  • Filenames: Use the placeholder %date1% to include a timestamp in the filenames. Example: openimmo_%date1%.zip
  • Videos: Optionally enable to include videos in the transfer

The following example shows the configuration of an SFTP connection in JustImmo:

To display reference properties on your website, please read the article “Displaying Reference Properties”.

If you have any questions about the configuration, please contact support.

Once set up, JustImmo transfers an OpenImmo file to the /openimmo/ directory of your website with every export. From there, WP-ImmoMakler takes over: the plugin processes incoming files automatically, creates new properties, updates changed ones, and removes properties that were deleted in JustImmo. For a reliable rhythm, a server cron job is recommended.

Photos, floor plans, and documents from the export are automatically imported into the WordPress media library. Whether processed files are deleted afterwards and whether you would like to be informed by email about successful imports can be configured in the import settings.

Importing Development Projects via the JustImmo API PLUS

Section titled “Importing Development Projects via the JustImmo API ”

The OpenImmo export only transfers the individual units of a development project, not the project itself. So that the project page with description, images, and floor plans doesn’t have to be maintained by hand, WP-ImmoMakler fetches development projects directly via the JustImmo API.

The two work together: units continue to arrive via the OpenImmo export, while the development project comes via the API. WP-ImmoMakler links the two automatically, so the units appear in the units table on the project page.

The API credentials are not your JustImmo login. They are generated separately in JustImmo:

  1. In JustImmo, open more → Exports → My Exports.
  2. Activate the API there. JustImmo then generates a username and password.
  3. Book your development projects and their associated properties into the API export — just like with any other JustImmo export. Properties that are not booked in cannot be seen by the interface.

You need administrator rights in JustImmo for steps 1 and 2.

Enter the credentials in the backend of your website (wp-admin) under WP-ImmoMakler → Software/Portals → JustImmo and activate the Automatically import development projects option.

The following settings are available:

  • Import interval in hours: How often development projects are synced. Development projects rarely change, so once a day is usually sufficient.
  • Image size: The size at which project images are retrieved. Without a value, JustImmo delivers relatively small images.
  • Language: The language code in which the project data is retrieved.

Whether the connection is active is shown by the coloured dot next to the “JustImmo” tab, as well as by the status message in the tab itself.

Two causes look similar from the outside but require different fixes — so WP-ImmoMakler distinguishes them in the message:

  • Credentials rejected: Typically the JustImmo login was entered instead of the API credentials. Generate the credentials as described above.
  • No development projects reachable: The credentials are correct, but nothing has been booked into the API export. Book your projects into the API export in JustImmo.

Frequently Asked Questions about JustImmo and WordPress

Section titled “Frequently Asked Questions about JustImmo and WordPress”

How does WP-ImmoMakler handle JustImmo property statuses?

Section titled “How does WP-ImmoMakler handle JustImmo property statuses?”

Properties with the status “sold” or “rented” are recognized as brokered and — if the reference option is activated — automatically marked as references. Properties in “draft” status are not published automatically but are saved as drafts in WordPress as well.

Are images, floor plans, and documents transferred?

Section titled “Are images, floor plans, and documents transferred?”

Yes. All attachments from the OpenImmo export — photos, floor plans, PDF documents — are automatically imported into the WordPress media library. Image quality can be adjusted under Settings: Import; from WP-ImmoMakler PLUS onwards, images can additionally be converted automatically to the space-saving AVIF format.

What happens if I delete a property in JustImmo?

Section titled “What happens if I delete a property in JustImmo?”

If JustImmo transfers a deletion command or a full sync without the property, it is also removed from your website. You can exempt reference properties from this — with the option “Ignore deletion commands for reference properties” under Settings: Import.

Do I need to do anything else after the setup?

Section titled “Do I need to do anything else after the setup?”

No. Trigger a one-time full export in JustImmo so that the complete inventory is transferred — after that, synchronization runs automatically. You do not need to log in to WordPress for this.

Why don’t my development projects appear on the website?

Section titled “Why don’t my development projects appear on the website?”

First check whether the projects are booked into the API export in JustImmo under more → Exports → My Exports — without this booking, they are not visible to the interface. If the connection is active, the “JustImmo” tab shows a status message with the number of transferred projects.

The units of a project only appear in the units table once they have been imported via the OpenImmo export. The development project and its units come from two different sources and meet on the project page.
