Upgrading the Plugin
Before Upgrading: Create a Backup
Section titled “Before Upgrading: Create a Backup”Before performing the upgrade, please create a full backup of your website, including all files and the database. You can use the tools provided by your hosting provider or plugins such as UpdraftPlus or BackWPup.
Performing the Upgrade
Section titled “Performing the Upgrade”Method 1: Uninstall the Old Plugin, Then Install the New One
Section titled “Method 1: Uninstall the Old Plugin, Then Install the New One”Deactivate and delete the existing WP-ImmoMakler plugin, then install the new edition as usual. Your property data will be fully preserved, as it is stored in the WordPress database. Please remember NOT to delete your WP-ImmoMakler ChildSkin, as your individual customizations are stored there.
Method 2: Overwrite Directly
Section titled “Method 2: Overwrite Directly”Upload the new plugin package directly without removing the old plugin first. WordPress will detect the existing installation and ask whether it should be replaced.
After the Upgrade
Section titled “After the Upgrade”Enter the New License Key
Section titled “Enter the New License Key”After the upgrade, enter your new license key in the backend of your website (wp-admin) under WP-ImmoMakler > Support License. Please remember to activate the license key.

Verify Functionality
Section titled “Verify Functionality”After the upgrade, check the following areas:
- Display of properties in the list and detail views
- Correct operation of saved searches
- Proper delivery of contact form inquiries
Customizations Are Preserved
Section titled “Customizations Are Preserved”Custom display adjustments should always be made in the ChildSkin. This ensures that all customizations are retained even after a plugin upgrade.
If you have accidentally placed customizations in the main plugin, or are unsure whether your agency made individual changes there, feel free to contact our Support.
Book an Upgrade
Section titled “Book an Upgrade”Switching from a smaller to a larger license is possible at any time. You only pay the difference to the next higher package; the remaining term of your support license stays unchanged.
Note: The upgrade cannot currently be booked directly in the web shop. Please contact our support team — either for a non-binding quote or for direct invoicing. Please provide your current license key and the desired target license.
After payment is received, you will receive a new download link and an updated license key by email. Then simply install the main plugin on your server — the ChildSkin plugin remains untouched, as your individual customizations are stored there.
Expired Support License
Section titled “Expired Support License”If your support license has already expired, you can first purchase the appropriate service package and then proceed with the upgrade. For future renewals, switching to a smaller license is also possible.
