Email Delivery

Emails are not arriving or landing in spam

Section titled “Emails are not arriving or landing in spam”

Many hosting providers now block unauthenticated PHP email sending to protect against spam and malware. The solution is to send emails through an authenticated SMTP server.

  1. In WordPress, go to Plugins > Add New.

  2. Search for “SMTP”.

  3. Install and activate an SMTP plugin of your choice — WP Mail SMTP has proven to work well, but other SMTP solutions work equally fine.

  4. Enter the SMTP credentials provided by your hosting provider or email service.

The sender address of the contact form should use the same domain as your website. Using a different sender domain increases the likelihood of emails being classified as spam.

Automatically assign contact enquiries PLUS

Section titled “Automatically assign contact enquiries ”

If you use Propstack as your CRM, you can have incoming contact enquiries automatically assigned to a source. This feature is available from the PLUS licence onwards — if you are still on the BASIC licence, you can upgrade at any time at wp-immomakler.de. For detailed instructions, see the Propstack configuration article: Automatically assign contact enquiries

Email appears in the Sent folder instead of the Inbox

Section titled “Email appears in the Sent folder instead of the Inbox”

If a contact enquiry in Propstack appears in the Sent folder instead of the Inbox, the sender address of the contact form is identical to the configured recipient address. For instructions on how to resolve this, see the Propstack configuration article: Email appears in the Sent folder instead of the Inbox

You can find instructions on how to manually set the recipient address under Contact Form: Customizing the Recipient Email Address.
