Settings: Projects

The project settings can be found in your website’s admin area (wp-admin) under WP-ImmoMakler → Settings → Projects. They control how development projects and their units (flats, offices, etc.) are displayed in the list view, on the project detail page, and in the [immomakler-project-units] shortcode.

Settings overview

The first three options — the two list view options plus the grouping field for project assignment — are available in all editions; all others configure the units table and the project detail page and are only available in the PLUS editions — they are hidden in the Basic edition. Detailed explanations of the more complex options can be found in the sections below the table.

Grouping field for project assignment

On import, WP-ImmoMakler derives one project identifier for each property from the two OpenImmo grouping fields. Units belong to the same project exactly when they share the same project identifier. This option determines which of the two fields takes precedence:

• Prefer gruppen_kennung (default): gruppen_kennung is used, falling back to gruppennummer. This fits most real estate CRM software exports.
• Prefer gruppennummer: gruppennummer is used, falling back to gruppen_kennung.

You need the second setting if your export populates both fields and gruppen_kennung contains its own value per unit — for example a running number like 14465-001, 14465-002 — while the shared project identifier is stored in gruppennummer (for example 81925as). If you leave the default setting in this case, every unit gets its own project identifier and the units are not assigned to their project.

Purely numeric values below 10 (1, 2, 3 …) are ignored in both fields: some exports use them as a general sort or group counter, not as a project identifier.

Note

This option is available in all editions, because the project identifier also determines which properties count as project units — and therefore whether they are hidden from the list view via the Show project units and parent properties together in the list view option.

Tip

After saving, the project identifier of all already-imported properties is automatically recalculated. A new import is not required — just reload the project page afterwards.

You can see which value a property actually received by editing the property and checking the Group Identifier or Group Number field.

Project assignment of units PLUS

Determines how a unit is assigned to its project:

• Via grouping fields (default): The unit and the project share the same project identifier — that is, the same value in the grouping field you set above under Grouping field for project assignment.
• Via property ID prefix: Units belong to a project if their property ID (objektnr_extern) begins with the project’s property ID. Example: project PROJ-001 → units PROJ-001-WE1, PROJ-001-WE2, etc. Useful when units do not maintain their own grouping field but are named consistently after the project.

Tip

When assigning via prefix, use unique prefixes (ideally with a separator such as -) so that, for example, a project AB does not accidentally include units belonging to a project ABC.

Display and columns PLUS

Display of units on the project detail page lets you choose between the sortable table (default) and the classic list/tile view. In the table view, Units table columns defines the displayed fields, and Default sort: column / direction define the initial order. Visitors can then re-sort any column by clicking its heading; the floor column is sorted sensibly (ground floor before 1st floor before 2nd floor before top floor), not purely alphabetically.

Columns for which no unit provides a value are automatically hidden — the column list is therefore the maximum selection, not the guaranteed display. The full list of available column keys and all shortcode attributes (e.g. columns, default_sort, sortable) can be found under Shortcodes.

Expandable detail rows (accordion) PLUS

When Enable expandable detail rows is switched on, clicking a table row opens a detail panel directly below it instead of navigating to the unit’s detail page. The detail panel shows a preview image and — by default — bathroom, WC, balcony/terrace, and heating type; clicking the image opens the full image gallery (photos and floor plans). Content is only loaded when a row is expanded, so even projects with many units load quickly.

• Preview image in detail panel chooses between the first floor plan (default, with fallback to the cover image) and the cover image (first photo).
• Data fields in detail panel defines — in the same way as the table columns — which fields appear, as a comma-separated list. The special fields balkon_terrasse (combined count of balconies/terraces) and heizungsart (list of heating types) are rendered specially; any other key is treated as a property meta field and formatted like a table column (e.g. wohnflaeche, anzahl_zimmer, baujahr). Fields with no value are automatically hidden.

Note

When detail rows are enabled, the Entire table row clickable option has no effect — the click toggles the detail panel instead. The unit’s detail page remains accessible via the details column or the linked property ID.

Contact form in detail panel

When Contact form in detail panel is enabled (default), each expanded detail panel shows a “Get in touch” button. Clicking it opens the WP-ImmoMakler contact form for that exact unit directly below the panel — an enquiry is sent to the unit’s assigned contact person, without visitors having to leave the project page.

The button only appears for units that also show a contact form on the unit’s own detail page (status “available”; for “reserved” it depends on the setting for whether reserved properties get a contact form). Per embedding, you can turn the button off via the shortcode attribute contact="0". The form’s own behaviour (recipient, fields, required fields) is configured under Contact Form.

Sold and rented units PLUS

Two options control how already sold or rented units are treated in the table — both are enabled by default:

• Hide price for sold/rented units displays the purchase price, cold rent, and warm rent as blank for these units. Reserved and available units continue to show their price.
• Remove links for sold/rented units makes these units no longer clickable: no row link, no linked property ID, and no details icon. The unit remains visible in the table, but its detail page is no longer reachable from the table.

Project data in the overview and detail view

OpenImmo has no vocabulary for development projects. Every real estate CRM software therefore transmits project data in its own custom fields with its own field names — ImmobilienScout24 differently from onOffice, and JustImmo differently again. On import, WP-ImmoMakler translates these fields into a shared set of data fields, so the same development project looks the same regardless of the connected software, and the values are formatted according to your website’s number, currency, and language settings.

Which of these fields appear depends on what your real estate CRM software transmits: a data field with no value is not displayed. WP-ImmoMakler calculates the sales progress from the unit figures if your real estate CRM software does not transmit it itself.

In the list view, you choose the displayed data in the Customizer under WP-ImmoMakler → Property List View, in the Show property data and Show prices fields. On the detail page, they appear in the property data table.

Note

If you have customised the selection under Show property data before, your saved selection takes precedence — the newly added project data fields are not yet included in it. Add the checkmarks you want there once.
