Privacy FAQ

Does the plugin transmit personal data to the connected real estate software?

Section titled “Does the plugin transmit personal data to the connected real estate software?”

No. Property data and images are imported once and stored directly on your WordPress server. No further transmission of personal data takes place.

Is visitor data transmitted to external providers such as ImmoScout24?

Section titled “Is visitor data transmitted to external providers such as ImmoScout24?”

No. Property data and images are transferred server-to-server at a configurable interval (1–24 hours) and stored in WordPress. All visitor requests go exclusively to WordPress, not to ImmoScout24 or other external services.

Are visitor IP addresses sent to third parties?

Section titled “Are visitor IP addresses sent to third parties?”

Only when Google Maps is used can a visitor’s IP address be transmitted to Google. Otherwise, no IP addresses are shared with third parties.

What personal data is processed through search queries or contact forms?

Section titled “What personal data is processed through search queries or contact forms?”

Only the fields that you have enabled in the form are processed. The plugin does not process or store IP addresses from form submissions.

What does the notice “No privacy policy page configured” mean?

Section titled “What does the notice “No privacy policy page configured” mean?”

This admin notice appears when no page has been selected under Settings → Privacy, or when the selected page does not have the status “Published”. It reminds you that maintaining a privacy policy is required by law. A step-by-step guide can be found under Set up your privacy policy page. The notice is only visible to administrators and disappears as soon as a published privacy policy page has been set.

How do I respond to an access or erasure request for a property alert?

Section titled “How do I respond to an access or erasure request for a property alert?”

Via WordPress’s privacy tools under Tools → Export Personal Data and Tools → Erase Personal Data. WP-ImmoMakler reports the stored property alerts there, so they are automatically included or deleted for the requested email address — including those not yet confirmed. A step-by-step guide can be found under Access and Erasure of Property Alerts.

All forms check for typical bot characteristics in the background: an invisible form field (honeypot), the form’s origin, and the fill time. There’s nothing for your visitors to see. Suspicious submissions are not discarded by default — they are delivered and flagged in the subject line, so no genuine enquiry is ever lost. Optionally, you can also enable ALTCHA, which is generated and verified entirely within WordPress without sending any data to third parties. Google reCAPTCHA has not been used since the introduction of the GDPR, as it transmits visitor data to US servers. For details, see Spam Protection.
